Beginner Applique - Learn the Basics.

This fun class is taught by Sarah Yuhr.

In this Beginner Applique course, the student will learn very basic techniques using an AccuQuilt die to create a textile art block that can be added to a quilt, framed for home decor or used to create a pillow.  The student will learn about easy pattern usage with AccuQuilt and will be able to layer fabrics to create the Camper from the limited edition 2020 AccuQuilt die.  

This class length may last 1.5-4 hours depending on the student. Upon the completion of this class, the student will have the confidence to continue with applique and advance their skills.  

Bring your sewing machine, sewing machine manual, thread, scissors, 1/4" foot, walking foot, and other basic sewing supplies. Also bring an extension cord.

Class Supplies: 

1 fat quarter - background fabric

5" square of white fabric

7" x 13" strip of pattern fabric

7" x 13" strip of solid coordinating fabric to print fabric.

Steam-A-Seam** - 1 sheet from a package of 5 --. 9" x 12" sheets 

**Recommended to bring more than 1 sheet.  

Applique scissors  (Small thread scissors will also work)

Thread to applique in coordinating color 

Sewing Machine in good working order 

Sewing Machine needle in size 70/10 (for small needle holes to sew applique)

1 Hand sewing needle as well
